it's our anniversary.

This day four years ago I married my best friend in the whole wide world, my soul mate.
He's so many things I love.  And so many things I'm not.  Which makes sense - we complete each other.

He's patient.
He's kind.
He leaves me notes on the bathroom mirror.
He's sweet.
He's caring.
He's polite.
He cries.  A lot.
He rarely complains.
He always gives.
He's helpful.
He's thoughtful.
He writes me cards, just because.
If I'm doing chores, he asks how he can help.
He's the best doggy daddy ever.
He's generous.
He's gentle.
He's thought provoking.
He's engaged.
He's so many more things than this list.

He's my t-ball sweetheart.

See?  That's us, in the bottom right corner with the arrows over our heads, standing right next to each other.

Enjoy some random pictures from our special day.. some professional, some not.

Best. Dance Party. Ever.

All my ladiesssss on the stage.

This Friday we leave for Wisconsin for a family reunion, to the very lake house where we honeymooned.  Just a little non traditional for a honeymoon, no?

WE LOVED IT.

We canoed, we layed out, we slept in, we watched tv from separate reclining chairs right next to each other, we ate ice cream, we went for boat rides, we went for walks, we went to a very hick corn roast festival, nbd.

We spent time together, just the two of us, with no one else around to steal our attention.

I'm so excited to be there at the same time we were there 4 years ago.  Too bad we're missing the corn roast festival this time by one measly weekend.

I am so blessed to be able to call this man my husband - and he does something every day to remind me of that.

So, cheers to celebrating...

21 years of knowing him.
11 years of being with him.
4 years of being married to him.

Cheers.

sunday's thwacks and shout-outs.

Hi friends.  Have you missed my thwacks and shout-outs?  I'm sorry I've skipped a couple of weeks - I've been really busy, and I have most certainly missed sharing my life with you!

But have no fear.  Here I am.  Back in business.

Thwack (verb) : to strike with, or as if with, something flat or heavy.
Shout-out (noun) : a public expression of gratitude or recognition.

Thwacks:

1.) Norway, thinking about you.

2.) I have this Costco-sized bag of chocolate at work that kept getting me in trouble. And by that I mean I couldn't stop eating it.  So I hid it in a closet quite far from my desk so it'd be harder to grab some without making a large effort.  For awhile, I forgot about the bag of chocolate... success.  This week, I remembered about the bag of chocolate, and the fact that it was across the office from me DID NOT STOP ME from going there multiple times a day to get some.  I am an addict.

3.) The poor husband has been sick this week.  We leave for Wisconsin on Friday for a family reunion that we've really been looking forward to, so I'm hoping he gets to feeling better by then.  And also that he doesn't generously pass it off on to me just in time to leave.  That would happen to me, to be honest.

4.) Wow mom, thanks for the "indestructible" toy you just brought home from the store for me a few hours ago.  I really, really, really love it.

Shout-outs:

1.) Violet Hills booked another wedding planning job over the weekend!  I'm so so excited...I get to work with a friend and soon-to-be colleague of mine, Amanda Burnett, which is a major bonus.  Another major bonus?  It's up on Green Bluff - the husband and I's dream place for our future venue!  It's going to be magical.

2.) Yesterday we had our annual Moss Adams Silverwood (giant water park) party.  Everyone brings their families, and Uncle Moss feeds us, gives us Pepsi bands for free drinks all day, gives us roller coaster bands to ride to our hearts' content (I personally hate roller coasters, fraidy cat), and we rent out the cabanas section just for us.  In other words, we're spoiled all day long.  And it is awesome.  Thank you Uncle Moss.

3.) We celebrated this cute little man on Friday - he turned 1 this week.  I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by... seems too soon for him to already be 1.

Is he not the cutest thing you've ever seen?  My cousins make ca-uuuuute babies.  No doubt.

4.) I've been excitedly anticipating the arrival of the Ideeli dress I purchased a few weeks back, and it finally came this week!  I think I paid $7 out of pocket, because I had some credits on this site.  Anyhoo, it fits like a glove, and I love it!  Haven't taken a pic in it yet, but it's this one that I posted about awhile back, in lipstick red.  Obv I didn't buy it for a bridesmaid dress... I'm possibly thinking Moss Christmas party?  We shall see.

5.) Some of you may have already seen this on Facebook, but I had to share it here as well.  The husband and I went to what we call "the swimming hole" with some friends for our pups to swim.  Trudy, my youngest pup, isn't a big swimmer yet... she won't go to where she can't touch.  She experienced a major case of FOMO (fear of missing out) while the other dogs were fetching the bumpers... so she gave in.

Such a goofy dog paddle.  What a champ though - proud mommy moment : )

6.) Last, but most definitely not least, the wedding I was planning and coordinating went really well.  It was two weekends ago in Montana.  However, as previously mentioned, I didn't even have time to go to the bathroom, let alone take pictures, which I was quite bummed about.  So I will post some of those for you as soon as the photographer is done editing his.

I hope you all enjoyed your weeks.

We don't have too much summer left, so live it up while it's here!

Oh yeah, p.s. I loved Harry Potter!!!  Anybody else??

Cheers.

pinterest weddings.

Look what I found on Pinterest today.

K I don't know if this one was actually pinned with weddings in mind, but somebody, SOMEBODY for pete's sake, needs to have this at their wedding.

I feel delightfully inspired by the tree pictures and the pretty flower color palette.

wedding burlap charm.

Oh my goodness friends.

You have not seen me post in awhile.... iiiiin an entire week to be precise.  That is because I have been quite busy with planning/coordinating a wedding for a friend and colleague of mine... and their wedding was this last Saturday in Montana!  Everything went really well, although I'm super bummed to say that I didn't even have a second to go to the bathroom, let alone take any pictures.  SO, I will have to wait until their photographer is done editing and post some of his pictures... stay tuned for that.

For Jen's wedding we incorporated some burlap throughout.  I, along with the rest of the world, am in lust with burlap lately... I just love the natural, rustic, country feel of it.  And there's so much you can do with it.

Like...

1.) A table cloth, table runner, or table square.

via

2.) Enclosing a large space to make it feel more intimate.

via

3.) Favor holders.

via

4.) Lighting enhancement.

via

via

5.) Bouquet wrap.

 Or beaut wraps.

via

6.) Invitations/stationary.

via

7.) Miscellaneous decor.

Love the charm.  Love the texture.  Love the burlap.

cake pop?

First, there were wedding cakes.

Then, there were wedding cupcakes.

Now, will there be wedding cake pops?

They're the new trendy thing in the baking world... perhaps they will be the new trendy thing in the wedding world?

I sure do love the idea.

short wedding dresses.

I fancy short wedding dresses lately.

Like really fancy. A lot.

They're non traditional yet non offensive, classy, fun, and they bring a clear sense of style to you and your overall wedding.

These ones catch my eye!  My heart truly does pitter-patter a wee bit when I look at them.
