bridesmaids in tights.

One of the main reasons I love the transition from summer to fall (and winter, too) is the strong, fun fashion that comes with it.  I love leggings, big sweaters, leg warmers, boots, scarves, big socks, and TIGHTS.  I love love love tights.  I'm almost always more than ready to take them off by the end of the day, but I still love wearing them.  I think I have about 15 different pair of tights... purple, red, cream, black, argyle...  I was hoping to score some mustard tights on my midnight Black Friday outing yesterday (or was that technically today?), but they were out of my size.

If I had a fall wedding, I'm pretty sure my bridesmaids would be wearing tights.  Purple, mustard, raspberry, and turquoise.  I die over that color combo.

These are all good choices too:

They're just screaming non-traditional, adorable fashion - I heart!!

hot chocolate bar?

Seeing all of those cute little dessert and candy bar spreads that have become so popular at weddings just make me all happy and excited inside.  I'm probably the biggest sweet tooth you'll ever meet... always have been, always will be.  Ask any of my older sisters; they give me a hard time about it so they probably have some sort of crazy story to share with you about me and my sweets addiction.  I have such a strong memory of anytime my grandpa was visiting, he would give me a dollar or two for the "convenience store" to go get some candy.  Or of organizing my candy each year after Halloween to take inventory and see who wanted to make trades.  Or today how I'm pretty sure I ate at least 5 fun size candies.

Anyways friends, I digress.

The perfect bar spread for your winter wedding is a hot chocolate bar... don't you think?

And how dang cute and cozy are some of these ideas?

I'd love to cozy up at a reception during the cold winter months with a cup of hot cocoa to warm me up and enjoy the festivities with.

Okay really more like a few cups of hot cocoa, but who would be counting?

Cheers.

DIY winter favors.

Ohhhh winter-y wonderland, you will be upon us in just a few short weeks, won't you?  And where I'm from, we typically get feet and feet of snow. I can't wait to use our wood fireplace and cozy up on those weekend afternoons with the husband and pups and my Real Simple magazine.

Please look at this adorable favor idea I came across - it's so perfect for those winter weddings when everybody has warm, cozy drinks on their minds!  Salted hot cocoa anybody?

As if that chocolate-y sea salty goodness isn't enough to satisfy your guests... you can be sending them home with a vintage spoon to-boot!

Check out the DIY instructions over here on Marry This!

Cheers.

B H L D N :: winter collection.

Anthropologie's B H L D N line has launched their new winter gowns.  As always, I see strong, cutting edge fashion.  It's enchanting.  It's dramatic.  It's winter worthy.

And it's also not for the faint-hearted bride.
