sunday's thwacks and shout-outs.

Just some weekly thwacks and shout-outs for you, dear friends.

Thwack (verb) : to strike with, or as if with, something flat or heavy.
Shout-out (noun) : a public expression of gratitude or recognition.

Thwacks:

1.) You know you're in public accounting (day job) busy season mode when you have a nightmare that you forgot how many board packets to prepare for a client.  The nightmare gets worse when you call your boss to ask how many they need because you forgot, and you get yelled at for not being on top of things.  GAH.

2.) You also know you're in busy season mode when you are SO excited for your lunch hour NOT because you're starving, but because you can't wait to go take a nap in your car.  Yes, mmhmmm, I did this on Tuesday.  It was fabulous.  I shall consider doing it more.
Sidenote: this made me think of a great business venture for somebody.  Open up an "napping" office/station in downtown Spokane where there are lots of corporate people who work long hours.  This napping station will have separate rooms and your own sleeping bag and pillow that you can leave there and "check out" when you visit on your lunch hour for a little nappy-noo.  We could all use a bed, a pillow, and a CD player with calming water sounds in the background for some shut eye during our days, no??

3.)  Don't you feel like something has been going wrong with our car just about every week?  So.do.I.  I wasn't aware that I drove such a junker. Welp, guess I do. On the way to work on Monday, the heat did not work and the heater gauge was on the smokin' hot level. We took it in and paid too many monies for them to tell us nothing is wrong with it.  What the??

4.) I found out on Thursday our dream property out on Green Bluff for Violet Hills has been sold.  I felt sick to my stomach for a majority of the day, but I have faith this just means something better, more fitting is out there for us when we're ready to buy.

Shout-outs:

1.) One word: Emily.  Do you know who Emily is?  You should.  But if you don't, I forgive you.  This is her:

Fabulously gorgeous, no?  She's equally as sweet (well, she seems like it.  I have never talk to her before obv.) and is your quintessential southern bell.  Well, she won the bachelor this week.  I had been voting for her from the moment she stepped out of the limo on the very first show.  Go Emily!

2.) My friend and colleague, Devlin, got engaged!  Congrats girlfriend.

3.) I found these, and I want one for Lola and Trudy.

4.) Thursday marks the 2-month countdown to Italy with my mom!  Weee I can't wait!  I'm especially excited for this little bed and breakfast we have booked:

See those rolling hills?  Yep, those are in Tuscany.  Yep, I will be relaxing in that pool.

5.) I gave up chocolate for lent.  I'm not Catholic, but the husband and I decided to give it a try together, as more of a personal challenge.  It.Has.Been.A.Challenge.  I usually eat chocolate every day, multiple times a day.  Thank goodness for gummy worms and jelly beans.  Sounds like a thwack, yes?  Well, THIS is what makes it a shout-out - this will be me come April 23rd:

From the movie Chocolat.  If you haven't seen it, you should give it a try.  It stars Johnny Depp, and you really can't go wrong with Johnny Depp.

Cheers.

  4. A. Yes, I have often pondered why there are not napping spots...one conference room here could easily be turned into a napping station and could have MAJOR benefits...
    2. LOVE THE BOWTIES and expect to see them on my nieces when I visit next month. end of discussion.
III. Chocoalt is one of my all-time favorite movies and I watch it all the time. The score is amazing too, always puts me in a happy mood...and craving chocolate instrestingly enough. Oh, and Josephine in the movie?? I love how her husband says it so much I'm considering naming our daughter (if we ever have one) this. Josephine Amelia Hutton??? ADORABLE.
