Hi friends. Have you missed my thwacks and shout-outs? I'm sorry I've skipped a couple of weeks - I've been really busy, and I have most certainly missed sharing my life with you!
But have no fear. Here I am. Back in business.
Thwack (verb) : to strike with, or as if with, something flat or heavy.
Shout-out (noun) : a public expression of gratitude or recognition.
Thwacks:
1.) Norway, thinking about you.
2.) I have this Costco-sized bag of chocolate at work that kept getting me in trouble. And by that I mean I couldn't stop eating it. So I hid it in a closet quite far from my desk so it'd be harder to grab some without making a large effort. For awhile, I forgot about the bag of chocolate... success. This week, I remembered about the bag of chocolate, and the fact that it was across the office from me DID NOT STOP ME from going there multiple times a day to get some. I am an addict.
3.) The poor husband has been sick this week. We leave for Wisconsin on Friday for a family reunion that we've really been looking forward to, so I'm hoping he gets to feeling better by then. And also that he doesn't generously pass it off on to me just in time to leave. That would happen to me, to be honest.
4.) Wow mom, thanks for the "indestructible" toy you just brought home from the store for me a few hours ago. I really, really, really love it.
Shout-outs:
1.) Violet Hills booked another wedding planning job over the weekend! I'm so so excited...I get to work with a friend and soon-to-be colleague of mine, Amanda Burnett, which is a major bonus. Another major bonus? It's up on Green Bluff - the husband and I's dream place for our future venue! It's going to be magical.
2.) Yesterday we had our annual Moss Adams Silverwood (giant water park) party. Everyone brings their families, and Uncle Moss feeds us, gives us Pepsi bands for free drinks all day, gives us roller coaster bands to ride to our hearts' content (I personally hate roller coasters, fraidy cat), and we rent out the cabanas section just for us. In other words, we're spoiled all day long. And it is awesome. Thank you Uncle Moss.
3.) We celebrated this cute little man on Friday - he turned 1 this week. I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by... seems too soon for him to already be 1.
Is he not the cutest thing you've ever seen? My cousins make ca-uuuuute babies. No doubt.
4.) I've been excitedly anticipating the arrival of the Ideeli dress I purchased a few weeks back, and it finally came this week! I think I paid $7 out of pocket, because I had some credits on this site. Anyhoo, it fits like a glove, and I love it! Haven't taken a pic in it yet, but it's
this one that I posted about awhile back, in lipstick red. Obv I didn't buy it for a bridesmaid dress... I'm possibly thinking Moss Christmas party? We shall see.
5.) Some of you may have already seen this on Facebook, but I had to share it here as well. The husband and I went to what we call "the swimming hole" with some friends for our pups to swim. Trudy, my youngest pup, isn't a big swimmer yet... she won't go to where she can't touch. She experienced a major case of FOMO (fear of missing out) while the other dogs were fetching the bumpers... so she gave in.
Such a goofy dog paddle. What a champ though - proud mommy moment : )
6.) Last, but most definitely not least, the wedding I was planning and coordinating went really well. It was two weekends ago in Montana. However, as previously mentioned, I didn't even have time to go to the bathroom, let alone take pictures, which I was quite bummed about. So I will post some of those for you as soon as the photographer is done editing his.
I hope you all enjoyed your weeks.
We don't have too much summer left, so live it up while it's here!
Oh yeah, p.s. I loved Harry Potter!!! Anybody else??
Cheers.
